Congratulations to those who have been offered Scholarships by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol to study through the medium of Welsh at a Welsh university in September.

Hundreds applied for the Coleg Cymraeg Scholarships earlier this year, to study a wide variety of subjects including Medicine, Journalism, Nursing and Mathematics.

The prospective students will receive the funding over three years on condition that they study a certain percentage of their degree course through the medium of Welsh.

Those who will receive the Main Scholarship of £3,000 will be expected to study at least 66% of their degree courses through the medium of Welsh while those who will receive the Incentive Scholarship of £1,500 need to study 33% of their course through the medium of Welsh.

Two William Salesbury Scholarship worth £5,000 have been awarded this year to Heledd Lois Ainsworth from Ysgol Bro Teifi and Elen Wyn Jones from Ysgol Dyffryn Ogwen.

Another scholarship called the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Cyngor Gwynedd Scholarship worth £3,000 is also awarded every year and will be given to Siân Elin Morgan-Price from Ysgol Syr Hugh Owen.
