Dr Hefin Jones Re-Appointed Dean of the Coleg Cymraeg

The Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol has announced that Dr Hefin Jones has been appointed Dean of the Coleg, for a new term.

Dr Jones is a lecturer in the School of Biosciences at Cardiff University. He was appointed as the first Dean of the Coleg in 2011 and since then he has represented the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol staff as a director on the Coleg Board of Directors.

Following an open process of nominating a new representative to represent the academic staff of the Coleg, Dr. Jones was re-elected unopposed earlier this month. He will take on the role for a period of four years.

The main duties of Dean is to represent the Coleg academic staff on the Board of Directors, Chair the Coleg’s Academic Board, maintain regular contact with senior officers and represent the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol as required.

Andrew Green, Chairman of the Board of Directors said: "Hefin’s contribution to the work of the Coleg over the last few years has been extremely important and he offers guidance and support to the academic community of the Coleg. I welcome his appointment for a further term ".
