This project will look at how queer theory can be useful for literary critics. Queer theory takes a flexible look at the relationship between biological sex, gender and sexuality. The aim is to analyse four points in our literary history from the queer perspective, starting with Medieval Welsh Poetry and ending with contemporary dramatists, i.e. Dafydd James and Elgan Rhys. By using pedagogic language, it is hoped that this project can inspire the growth of new Welsh medium literary theorists.
