Research title: Dispute Resolution Boards in Wales and the impact of their use on current public policies and the development of the Technology and Construction Court in Wales.
The initial aim of the research will be to understand why the number of Dispute Resolution Boards is increasing, especially with regard to projects relating to the public sector.
One objective from a legal point of view will be to analyse situations where the courts are ready to intervene in the work of Dispute Resolution Boards and supervise the way in which they operate. The research will look at the categories of cases which are brought to court and look at whether there is an argument for creating grounds for appeal in cases which are of public interest.
Finally, the research will look at how dealing with matters through Dispute Resolution Boards has affected the development of the Technology and Construction Court in Wales.
