Significant reform will be seen within the educational curriculum in Wales over the coming months, where six Areas of Learning and Experience (AoLE) will be formed, of which Health and Wellbeing is the least familiar.
The aim of the research is to discover how schools implement the curriculum, with a specific focus on Health and Wellbeing and the Welsh dimension.
The first study will look at schools across Wales and the second will look at the role of Initial Teacher Training in order to prepare trainee teachers to facilitate the new curriculum.
It is anticipated that the outcomes of the research will help schools, educational consortia, policy makers and academics to implement the Health and Wellbeing AoLE.
