What Employers Say

Alun Shurmer, Communications Director of Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water

“As a company that prides itself on providing a Welsh language service, it is important that our customers can communicate with us through the medium of Welsh, verbally or in writing. For that reason, it’s essential that we have members of staff who have the ability to communicate in Welsh to a high standard so that we can ensure a first class service for our customers.”

Branwen Rhys Huws, Head of Marketing, Lolfa Press

'' Bilingualism is a huge advantage in the job market, and bilingual skills can double the choice of jobs available. The number of jobs that require the ability to communicate in Welsh is increasing, and there is a shortage of Welsh speakers in some areas. It is also the case very often that jobs requiring Welsh language skills offer a higher salary.”
