Open Online resources for schools

The Coleg Cymraeg provides an online multimedia Digital Library containing over 500 resources in 24 subjects including Business Studies, Music, Welsh, Media, Drama, Politics, Law and Science subjects. The library allows open access to all users , including schools, and no registration is required to access the majority of the resources. The library includes:

  • Video clips of taster sessions, lectures and interviews
  • Presentations and information leaflets
  • E-books

A further useful resource openly available to schools is ‘Y Porth’, the Coleg’s e-learning platform. It includes the ‘Esboniadur’ – containing specific collections of geographical terms, details of Welsh films and television programmes and three radio plays – and the 'Termau' resource, an online dictionary of terms in specific subjects.

Further Information

Many of these open resources will be useful to A Level and AS-Level students. It will also give them an opportunity to review the types of Welsh medium resources available at university.

Once students are at university and join the Coleg as an university student, a wider range of further resources are available to them, including their Welsh medium modules and an archive of TV programmes through the Resource Library.
