Why did you choose to study the degree subject?

I chose this degree subject as I am very interested in education and its history and the curriculum. I'm a very creative person and this course included several creative aspects including literature, music and technology within primary education. I would like to be a primary school teacher in the near future, and so this course is best suited to my personality and the career I'd like to follow.

Why did you choose to study through the medium of Welsh?

I chose to study through the medium of Welsh as I have been educated in Welsh since I was three years old. Therefore, I feel more confident learning and communicating through the medium of Welsh. I would also like to teach in Welsh in the future, therefore it's particularly useful to have the opportunity the study a Primary Education course through the medium of Welsh.

What's the best thing about studying a course partly through the medium of Welsh?

One of the best things about studying through the medium of Welsh is the close relationship you have with your tutors. The Welsh groups are usually smaller and therefore, the sessions are more personal and you get more attention. The tutors are very supportive and ensure that you feel confident in completing work in Welsh. If not, they offer you the opportunity to complete the work in English. Also, my tutor offers a weekly 'language clinic', where we can ask questions, play Welsh Scrabble, or have an informal chat.

Any advice for prospective students who are worried about studying through the medium of Welsh?

There's no need to worry at all. The Welsh tutors are extremely supportive and always ensure that you feel confident and happy completing your work in Welsh.

Why did you apply to be an ambassador and what are you most looking forward to?

I applied to be an ambassador in order to promote Welsh-medium study in Higher Education, and to ensure that students continue to have the opportunity to enjoy learning through the medium of Welsh. I would like to demonstrate the benefits of studying through the medium of Welsh and how it will benefit students after they have graduated. I'm looking forward to working with the Coleg Cymraeg and promoting Welsh in schools, UCAS fairs and the Eisteddfod.

What do you enjoy most about being at university?

I enjoy the independence of being at university. It allows you to develop new skills and it challenges you. The Welsh Society is also a lot of fun; they regularly host events and provide opportunities for everyone to get to know each other.

In my spare time I enjoy socialising with family and friends, going to see new/interesting places and shopping online.

Favourite things?

Starbucks coffee, Disney films, singing and Christmas.
