Why did you choose to study the degree subject?

I am very interested in promoting and managing businesses, as well as psychology and ICT, so this course was perfect as it concentrates on all of those fields.

Why did you choose to study through the medium of Welsh?

Studying through the medium of Welsh affords many opportunities, especially within the world of work. There is also the lively social life and close community that go hand in hand with studying in Welsh.  I don't come from a Welsh-speaking family so choosing to study in Welsh helps me to maintain my Welsh skills.

What is the best thing about studying a course partly through the medium of Welsh?

The lectures are smaller and you get more opportunities to discuss with your lecturer, as well as getting to know fellow students and making close friends.

Any advice for prospective students who are worried about studying through the medium of Welsh?

I would encourage everyone to try studying in Welsh as it gives you an opportunity to continue to practice the language around others who are also trying to improve their language. Your Welsh does not need to be perfect to study in Welsh as there is so much support available. It's a great opportunity to become a part of a friendly community where you can develop at a pace that suits you.

Would you encourage others to apply for a Coleg Cymraeg scholarship and why?

I would definitely encourage others to apply for the Coleg's scholarship. It's a great help to students studying at university. It helps you to buy learning resources and contributes towards your everyday living costs. Any extra money is a great help at university.

Why did you apply to be an ambassador and what are you most looking forward to?

I applied to be an Ambassador to try to help give confidence to other young people who might feel that they can't study through the medium of Welsh and to be part of something that will hopefully strengthen the use of Welsh.

What do you enjoy most about being at university?

What I enjoy most about being at university at the moment is learning how to cope and live by myself. Even though Mum and Dad are always at the other end of the phone, it's exciting and interesting to taste freedom and control my own life. It's also a great opportunity to meet a lot of people from all over the world and learn about their experiences.

Leisure interests?

I like to go shopping and for coffee with friends as well as rowing with the university team. I also like to visit new places and see the main attractions of different cities.

Favourite things?

Music, visiting new places, walking, cooking and rowing.

Least favourite things?

I hate the winter and getting up early in the morning for lectures.

Favourite Welsh language programme / film?

Mynydd Grug. I studied the film for GCSE and I liked analysing it.

Any other interesting information about you?

I am a natural redhead and I am scared of walking down steep hills. I used to go horse riding and if glitter were a colour, that would certainly be my favourite colour.
