After obtaining a first class degree in Welsh at Bangor University, Manon worked on a part-time basis as a scriptwriter and professional actress with Sianco, Cwmni’r Frân Wen and Shimli, and ran drama workshops for young people in schools and in Theatr Fach Llangefni.

She went on to complete an MA in Welsh and Creative Writing, focusing on the play as a medium. In 2009, she received a Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Research Scholarship to follow a doctoral course in Scriptwriting and Drama at Bangor University. She worked as a teaching assistant in the School of Welsh and lectured at the University in Scriptwriting and Drama.

In 2007, she won the Bryn Terfel Scholarship for a dramatic performance, and in both 2007 and 2010, she won the National Urdd Eisteddfod’s Medal Ddrama for the best play.
