Nia graduated in Psychology in 2003. Following this she worked with a not-for-profit organisation in Brynrefail promoting small businesses in the local area.
In 2006 she successfully gained a Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol Research Scholarship to study towards a master’s degree and doctorate in the Psychology department at Bangor. For her doctorate she focused on evaluating a programme for parents of babies and toddlers from disadvantaged areas across Wales. During this period she also taught undergraduates in the Psychology department.
Following this, she was appointed as a Welsh medium Teaching Fellow sponsored by the Coleg before being appointed to the Coleg’s Academic Staffing Scheme.
