Miriam Leigh was recently appointed as Welsh-medium lecturer in Social Work at the College of Human and Health Sciences at Swansea University. Miriam has 17 years' experience as a social worker, including periods as Children's Social Worker, Inspecting Social Worker, Training and Recruitment Officer, Children's Services Complaints Officer and as Development and Training Officer. She has already worked as a volunteer with children and adults, and is interested in matters of law, the rights of children and young people and the rights of adults in the context of mental health and the criminal court. Her main interest is teaching, as well as research on the resilience of children and parents, especially in the context of childhood cancer.
