Originally from Aberystwyth and having completed a degree in agriculture and animal science, Manod secured a five year research scholarship from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol in 2012.
He completed an MSc in Livestock Science in 2013 before moving on to his doctorate that focuses specifically on an aspect of precision livestock farming to reveal subclinical disease in dairy cattle.
Since 2013 he has developed two Welsh-medium modules in agriculture for teaching at IBERS.
He has now been appointed as a research fellow at IBERS for a period of five years to develop the agricultural and bioveterinary sciences fields through the medium of Welsh.
