Marie studied for an undergraduate degree in Geology at the University of Leicester, graduating with first class honours in 2011. Whilst at Leicester, and through the co-operation of the British Geological Survey, she completed a master's degree research project by studying ice sheets covering Britain during the Pleistocene. She then moved to Royal Holloway, University of London, in order to complete a doctorate investigating the side effects of former Neoproterozoic glaciation in Namibia, Australia and the southeastern United States. Marie is currently moving towards studying recent and ancient glacial deposits together in order to compare the nature, preservation and erosion of sediments in the ancient world and our present world.
