After graduating in Leisure and Tourism Management, Kelly worked in hospitality as deputy manager and wedding coordinator. She also project managed hospitality and tourism staff training funded by the European Social Fund. For four years she worked closely with SMEs in Monmouthshire in order to develop training programmes for tourism staff and managers.
In addition to lecturing, she is an external moderator with the Chartered Managers Institute (CMI). She has also established and run small local businesses and has been a consultant advising on establishing businesses abroad.
