Sara is an accountant and an ACCA (Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) and CIOT (Chartered Institute of Taxation) qualified tax consultant and has worked in the accountancy and taxation industry for more than 14 years.
She has taught Accountancy and Taxation modules since 2007 at Bangor University, including ACCA professional courses and undergraduate and postgraduate Accountancy modules. She received an honours degree for her PGCTHE (Postgraduate Certificate in Teaching in Higher Education) work and has recently been nominated for the ‘Teacher of the Year’ award by the Students’ Union and the student-led Teaching Awards Panel. She was also nominated for a Teaching Fellowship by the students and Head of Bangor Business School.
She completed her master’s degree with research into the tax credit system in Britain in 2011 before starting her doctorate in Accountancy in September 2012 with support from the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol’s Research Scholarship.
