The Eilir Hedd Morgan Memorial Prize is awarded by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol. The award not only recognises progressive research in the sciences, but also a young person's contribution towards teaching the sciences through the medium of Welsh at a higher education establishment. We thank Eilir's family for agreeing to and supporting this award.
Eilir Morgan was one of the brightest Coleg Cymraeg PhD Scholarship holders who then went on to be appointed lecturer at Bangor University sponsored by the Coleg's Academic Staffing scheme. He died in an accident in Llanrug in 2013 aged just 29.
