Salary:          £27,929 – £34,308

Location:       Cardiff or Carmarthen

Location flexibility is part of our hybrid working approach

The Coleg is looking for an intelligent and enthusiastic individual to lead our efforts to ensure that the Coleg, and post-compulsory Welsh and bilingual education, is open to everyone, whatever their background.

If you would like to arrange an informal chat about the role then send an email to Dafydd Trystan, Senior Academic Manager and Registrar of the Coleg – d.trystan@colegcymraeg.ac.uk.

The Coleg wishes to appoint an Equality, Diversity and Anti-Racism Co-ordinator to co-ordinate the implementation of a five-year strategy in order to increase the involvement of people from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic backgrounds, and people with other protected characteristics who are currently under-represented, with the Coleg and post-compulsory Welsh and bilingual provision. The strategy is ambitious and sets a timetable and targets for seeing progress over the coming years.

The individual will have experience of dealing with communities that are currently under-represented in the Coleg - specifically for example people from a Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic background and disabled people - and will have an understanding of issues relating to intersectionality ( intersectionality) is necessary.

The ability to speak Welsh is essential for this role and support is available at the Coleg for those who wish to improve their Welsh language skills.

For this post we particularly encourage applications from disabled candidates and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates under the affirmative action rules of the Equality Act 2010 as these groups are under-represented within the Coleg.

Closing date: 14:00 on 14 February 2023.
