More courses than ever before will be eligible for the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol William Salesbury Scholarship of £5,000 this year.
The scholarship was offered for the first time last year by the William Salesbury National Trust in order to encourage perspective students to make the most of the Welsh medium provision available.
Over 60 courses are available entirely through the medium of Welsh and are therefore eligible for the scholarship this year and perspective students will have until 20 March to submit their application.
A wide variety of subjects including Sociology, Journalism, French and History are eligible for the scholarship this year as well as joint honours Welsh Language and Literature degrees.
Megan Mai Cynllo Lewis was awarded the scholarship last year. She is currently following a degree in Film Studies at Aberystwyth University:
‘‘I find it hard to believe that a year has passed since I presented my application for the William Salesbury Scholarship. The support offered by the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol through their scholarships is a great help and I would encourage anyone to apply if their course is eligible. The process is straight forward so go for it and good luck!’’
The William Salesbury Scholarship is in addition to those scholarships already offered annually by the Coleg Cymraeg.
Students who want to study science, geography, law, sports, business, medicine and more are welcome to apply for the Coleg’s Incentive Scholarship of £1,500 before 8 May 2015.
