This message summarises some of the measures the Coleg Cymraeg Cenedlaethol has taken during the current uncertainty. The Coleg is taking this action in order to take into account the health, safety and welfare of staff, students, friends of the Coleg and the wider community.
Following the UK government's announcement that all those able to work from home should do so, all Coleg staff are now working from home and our offices in Carmarthen, Cardiff and Bangor are closed.
Please contact the Coleg by e-mail at this time. There is a list of direct email addresses for our staff here or send a message to email@example.com. This email address is being monitored regularly during working hours. During the Covid-19 period, we will do our best to respond to queries but there may be delays.
Coleg meetings and events
Several meetings and events organised by the Coleg to be held in the next few weeks have been postponed including:
- Health Conference (21 March 2020)
- Annual Assembly (24 March 2020)
- The Coleg’s Court (24 March 2020)
- Board of Directors meeting (25 March 2020)
- History Conference (25 March 2020)
- All subject panels until at least Monday 20 April
Summer term meetings
A number of events have been arranged for the summer term. At this stage these have not been postponed but we will review the position in due course.
The Language Skills Certificate (TSI)
We anticipate that the Language Skills Certificate (TSI) assessments and examinations will be postponed as a result of the emergency. We have been in discussion with the WJEC who accredits the certificate and we will consider the position of applicants when things have stabilised. In the short term the Coleg understands the decision to postpone oral assessments at several universities and advises postponement if there is any doubt.
We appreciate that the crisis may affect the timescale of some projects. We would be very happy to review the situation in due course.
Coleg Scholarships Payments
Scholarship payments to students will be processed for payment before the end of March 2020, in accordance with the schedule.
